Faculty: Business Enterprise (Second Class Honors)

Where and in which faculty did you graduate from?

I studied Business Enterprise at University of Birmingham.

How was your 2 years of study in Thailand?

It was fine and very fun indeed because it was not just to memorize information but rather to think and ask questions. All professors were very welcoming. I always felt I was better after completing each assignment.

And how was your study life in the UK in your final year?

During my study in UK, it was very challenging. I gained experiences from in and outside classroom. For example, in the last year, we were able to choose between doing a dissertation or a business plan. I chose to do a business plan for a Thai restaurant. I actually got to work at real Thai restaurants from Sabai Sabai Restaurant, Thanom Restaurant, and Chao Phraya Restaurant. What I have learnt is that it is not an easy task. It is not that you want to open a restaurant and then that’s it. For example, when I was working at the Chao Phraya Restaurant, I got to know how to get a restaurant into the London stock market, and why the restaurant was so successful. Or how Sabai Sabai Restaurant could become so successful to break the even point of 50 million baht or about 1 million pound in just one year. For another thing, I was able to work at a handmade burger shop which was a British-run family business. I realized why their fries are so delicious and how dish-washing can be difficult even when you have a dishwasher. Even washing dishes requires management skills. Another restaurant that I was fortunate enough to work at was called “Miss Korea”. You might think that the owner should be a Korean but apparently not. The owners are a couple of Chinese wife and an Iranian husband. Rumor has it that anyone working at this restaurant resigns  within 3 days. I think it is because of the cultural differences. Back to our business plan, the professors from my university had invited staff from Lloyds Bank to watch us pitching the project and give us feedback on how far the business plan went. It is a very worthwhile experience studying in the UK.

How can 2 years of study at Finn help you in your last year in the UK?

Finn guided me on what a good assignment should be, what is plagiarism and why you should not copy and paste, and how applying study cases and theories help get higher scores.

After graduated in the UK, where was your first job?

I got a job at Accenture as a Project Management Office Analyst. Accenture is a global IT-consulting company from the United States. I worked there for a year and then I applied for a job at Krung Thai Bank as they provided scholarships for Master degree.

So, what do you do right now?

Now I am working at Krung Thai Bang as a Government and State Enterprise Strategist. My duty is to improve the working processes in relationship management so that they truly understand customers’ businesses. Also, I need to design customer journey and work as a conductor. Simply put, the KPI of my job is to improve the capabilities of those in the government sector.

Last question, what was your secondary school? Where did you drop out from? And why Finn?

I studied at Satriwitthaya 2 School and was once a international student at Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University. I dropped out because I think I was quite outside the box and very much creative. So, I felt I did not belong there. I found out about Finn College while googling and after studying it for a while, I thought this was the place.
